Has big Sam damaged the flow and confidence of the team ?.
I remember so many who were watching the brilliant confident flowing attacking football with disbelief at the start of the season well a few games in to the season, and saying that when Nolan and Carroll return Big Sam was bound to return back to his bad old ways.
So do you all think that bringing back Nolan and Carroll may have rocked the boat slightly regarding how West ham play and the results they are now getting.

Ted... I thought he was average... he had a chance to batter those lily livered fragile Goon back line... but granted he did work hard....

Carroll doesn't score enough. he's a square peg in a round hole.

Today was yet another example of our team spirit qfter going not one but two nil down against the run of play. The manager has to take some credit for that as well as criticism for any preceived bad subs or line ups.

How are we doing half way through the season?

Don't give up on the lads just yet.

Broadly yes.

we have wba next who are there for the taking, start with valencia and sakho

sam is a slow learner, needs constant supervision, finishing 6th is v realistic so let him be judged on that.

we are halfway through the season, only need to ''fear'' arsenal & man city away- who do we seriously need to worry about apart from these 2? ok a bit too optimistic, but apart from chelsea who have battered us?

assume the fat one has enough experience to maintain and possibly improve on 6th - the standard has been set. 19 games to go..bring it on...COYI

Finishing 6th?!

Carroll thrives on quality crosses but today and Chelsea they were in short supply. I'm not too bothered in BFS perming any two from three for the forwards but would like to see Sahko and Valencia have a go again. Carroll's work load is fantastic, he does work his bollocks off, even getting back right at the end of the game!

I'd be fucking overjoyed if we finished 6th.

Its going to be more like 9th though.

The signings have been great this season and stopped a lot of the Championship quality fodder from starting.
S&V were a revelation up front with their higher energy game and defenders hate pace. Pace is something this club hasn't had in a long time.
It was always a question when Carroll and Sam's son were fit again how they would replace or slot in and injuries made that decision easy.
I cannot see a problem if we revert back to S&V starting again, and depending how the game goes then bring on Carroll.

Undeniably. We may have got results with them both back but we don't look anywhere near as convincing if you ask me. The players who lose out because of their inclusion are no doubt considering their futures at West Ham - Valencia, Sakho, Zarate & Amalfitano - and that will harm us if he stays. There's a place in the squad for Carroll, primarily as a sub coming on like he did in the FA cup final for the scouse, but nolan is way past his best & isn't going to get any better, so should be sold/paid off.
